11-year-old Cayman has a love for nature and respect for it. By the time he was 3 he could identify many birds. He wants to be a zoologist.
Thank you for generously supporting Cayman in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreCayman likes everything about nature from the unexpected appearance of an animal he didn’t expect to see that day to learning about their habits, their survival rates and how to help keeping them from becoming endangered. He especially likes birds and snakes.
Although extinct, he’s very fond of the dodo bird. And snakes are one of his favorite animals because of their ability to help nature through the food chain and eliminating certain rodents that cause disease or eat gardens. He also likes their unique colors and feels bad that they’re often misunderstood and killed just because they are a snake. He has a bearded dragon named Rango, so he guesses he would be his favorite animal because he’s part of the family.
He enjoys exploring, fishing, boating, Geocaching, because it takes us to unique places in nature as well as riding his bike, and taking our dog to the beach.
