To answer Jeff’s question about the importance of feeding these beautiful animals good quality food Houston said…”it is very important to feed them healthy clean food otherwise they’ll get rabies and die so we need to make sure what they eat is safe so they can continue to live and grow” 🤣🥰😊🤪

Sea lions are cool I like watching them at the zoo

So a male seal lion eats about 15 to 40 pounds of fish or squid a day and a female eats about 15 to 25 pounds a day so this is about 5 to 8% of their body weight. The males are significantly bigger than the female females averaging about, 600 to 850 pounds (about 270 to 385 kg) and a female weighs 180 to 250 pounds (about 80 to 115 kg)!

Miles researched and found out the male California sea lions eat approx 30-45lbs of fish and squid compared to 15-25lbs for the females. And they depend on a healthy diet daily to survive and breed. He thinks humans should stop fishing so much and throwing trash in the water!

When Alex was smaller he would never want to leave the sea lions at the zoo. After the show he would hang around forever watching them swim under the water. We recently visited national parks in Minnesota Oklahoma south dakota. Just looking at the plants and wildlife. Alex had the best time!

We live near the beach its been within 20 minutes of me my whole life. I love when my dad goes to work at the docks and going with him on the boats because I get to see all sea lions and Harbour seals. They are cool and come play around in the waters nearby us frequently. Waiting to see if anyone will throw them any fish scraps. There's this one it has one eye. And she will let you feed her I watched my dad and his coworker hand her one right out there hands. Its amazing to see in person.

Morgans research she found that a male sea lion needs 30 to 45 pounds for a day Of food and A female sea lion needs 15 to 25 pounds a day of food to survive. She found all this to be interesting.

Wow, they are cool! I found out that adult male California sea lions eat between five and 8% of their body weigh each day which is about 15 to 40 pounds of food per day. But female California sea lions eat only between 15 to 25 pounds of food per day, which is still about 5 to 8% of their body weight. I wonder how much I eat per day?

We used to live just minutes away from a sea lion rehab facility in Northern California. It was fun watching them get fed and learning their personalities! A female named "Cora" was our favorite!
