What does Zoe love most about nature?

Zoe thrives in leaving behind the industrialized world (especially, crowds of people!) and immersing herself in an untouched corner. She loves that it feels simultaneously so big and so small and like she has the land and its creatures all to herself. Zoe often thinks deeply about what nature was here before humans developed it, what the area looked like "untouched"? Ultimately, Zoe loves the natural beauty, quiet, peace, and tranquility.

What is Zoe's favorite animal—and why?

Zoe LOVES all animals in the canine family (e.g., foxes, wolves, dogs), especially the winter-weather specimens. Of these, dogs are her favorite and Siberian Huskies are her favorite breed, both for the stereotypical personality and for their love of winter weather and sports. In fact, Zoe has read A LOT about dog sledding and has even ridden along on a few (short!) dog sled runs.

What is Zoe's favorite outdoor activity?

Zoe's fav outdoor activity is learning wilderness and survival skills, especially foraging for fire kindling and collecting nuts. In fact, Zoe chose to attend 5th and 6th grade at an independent school because of its focus on and integration with its geographic location (mountains), with its most prominent programming being the year-long Outdoor Wilderness Learning School (OWLS). As part of her love of learning wilderness and survival skills, Zoe loves camping, canoeing, and outdoor cooking.
