Xavier is a high-energy child who finds true peace outside. You’ll find him searching for bugs or flipping through his Birds of Michigan book to learn what lives nearby. He loves being outdoors and sharing it with his sisters and family, eagerly telling them animal facts—from mantis shrimp to saltwater crocodiles to our state bird, the robin. He has a strong sense of justice while protecting nature and proudly helps clean up litter.
Xavier’s current favorite animal is the peacock mantis shrimp. He’s fascinated by its incredible defense—having the fastest, most powerful punch in the animal kingdom. He loves how it protects itself and its young, and is always eager to share fun facts about it with his family. His favorite animal may change (it was recently the Komodo dragon!), but his curiosity about wildlife never does.
Xavier’s favorite outdoor activity is searching for bugs EVERYWHERE - whether he’s digging in the dirt, checking trees, or exploring flowers. He also loves using his binoculars to spot wildlife, especially the bald eagles that visit our neighborhood, along with woodpeckers, bunnies, and other suburban critters. Whenever we hike nearby nature preserves, his binoculars are always in hand, ready for the next discovery.
