Receive Text UpdatesWaylon appreciates how beautiful and peaceful it is to be in nature. His time spent outside allows him to investigate his curiosities, and helps him understand more about the world that surrounds him.
Morning Doves. They remind him of his favorite extinct dinosaur, the velociraptor. Waylon designed a humane trap, with the goal of getting closer to a dove. He spent a whole weekend observing their walk with a bob, their plumage, and how reminiscent their movements are to dromaeosaurids. He was able to feel its’ heartbeat between his hands and gently release it back to join its mate.
Waylon appreciates living in the four seasons of New England. He loves spotting the migrating birds in spring and fall - hawks, peregrine, kestrels, and owls in and around our yard and while walking our dog. He is busy in the high grass of summer catching frogs, snakes, and lifting rocks to find newts. By winter he is at his happiest, climbing snow piles, ensuring our garden spaces have enough leaves/debris to allow safe cover for bunnies and keeping the bird feeder stocked for chickadees!
