Ty absolutely LOVES being outside. Biking, hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, exploring, everything about it! Mud is his favorite outfit.

Learn MoreIn his words, "I don't understand why kids stay inside playing video games." We live in Charleston, SC and have ample opportunities here to explore. We regularly as a family hike through the Francis Marion National Forest, along the Palmetto Heritage Trail, and explore all the areas that the Lowcountry has to offer. Ty has also become the neighborhood "reptile guy" which means that when neighbors find or have a turtle, snake, or even gator in their yard/home, we get a call for him to get it!
I'd have to say any variety of fish and reptiles. He catches them, brings them home, etc. We have a fish tank and crested gecko named Humphrey in his room and he loves nothing more than to be on the boat, in the kayak, or wandering the woods catching and playing with fish/snakes/turtles/lizards/etc. He's gentle with them and aware of their potential dangers at the same time.
Ty really enjoys biking at the moment. On roads, through trails, over jumps, anything that gets him outdoors and on his bike. That said, he takes any opportunity to also fish, hunt (dove, duck turkey when in season...and the rule is "you clean and cook what you kill"), hike, climb trees, and play sports with friends. He and his best buddy have built jumps for their bikes along the trails in the woods and constantly will show up back at home with some kind of critter that they unearthed.
