He climbs trees, wades through water, listens to the wind, gently moves bugs to safer homes, and watches birds. Unknown creatures are named and observed with wonder. In nature, he finds both excitement and peace, supported by its quiet rhythms, where he feels most himself exploring, understanding, and caring for creation and the land he stewards.
Toby’s favorite animal is the axolotl because he thinks they are very cute and is fascinated by how they live fully in water and adapt to their environment. He is drawn to their uniqueness and how they move and survive. He especially loves that they can regrow parts of their bodies. His love for the axolotl reflects his connection to water, curiosity about how things work, and appreciation for creatures that are different and remarkable.
Toby’s favorite outdoor activity is “doing science,” creating nature-based inventions and exploring how the world works and connects. In creation, his creativity and intelligence thrive, supported by the quiet, calming rhythms of nature. The way his brain works differently helps him see, sense, feel, and care for what has no voice unless you know how to listen, gifts that with care can grow into meaningful change.
