Learn MoreNature provides a feeling of freedom and exploration for me. You can walk by a tree and think "OH, that's pretty!" Or, you can examine it, knowing it has a story, just like you. It's a joy to find that kind of personal entertainment, instead of stimulation being handed to you on a silver platter ... or should I say, silver screen?!
It's sad I have to pick just one, but my fondest animal is the Island Fox! They dwell on California's Channel Islands, a National Park I miss dearly. Something I love about this animal is they have unique markings on their fur. It's like trying to solve a puzzle while looking at this small, but beautiful creature. And you don't just see them out on the middle of nowhere, they are loyal to the Channel Islands, which I see as glorious!
My favorite outdoor activity is playing in water, especially creeks. I love the feel of the water flowing through my fingers. I love the tumbling rocks and discovering a variety of creatures doing their part in their habitat. It's very soothing to me and makes me feel at peace, at home.
