What does Soren love most about nature?

Soren loves the freedom you can only find in nature. As a high-energy kid, he loves running ahead on trails, waking up in a tent and heading straight to the beach, lake or forest, playing with bare feet in the mud and dirt, climbing up trees, and just generally being wild and untethered. He loves all animals, and regularly makes bird and bug houses in the backyard. He is endlessly curious, on a quest to learn everything he can about nature, Earth and the universe.

What is Soren's favorite animal—and why?

Soren's favorite animal is a peregrine falcon. He loves that they are not only the fastest bird, but the fastest animal on the planet. A peregrine falcon's incredible eyesight allows them to take in the details of the natural environment from their vantage point in the sky. He loves that they are adaptable and resilient, having been listed as an endangered species, and that they were able to recover. Plus, what kid doesn't wish for the superpower of flight?

What is Soren's favorite outdoor activity?

Soren loves everything about being outdoors - hiking with his rescue dog, camping, fishing, climbing trees, bike riding, paddleboarding, snowboarding - but his favorite activity has to be swimming. Whether it's a lake, river, or beach, he's out there, exploring underwater with his goggles, swimming as far out (or sometimes farther) than is safe, keeping his parents on their toes. His mom nicknamed him "little fish" when she was pregnant with him, and he continues to live up to that name.
