So much variety can be found in nature, with all the different animals and insects, and individual species. “It would be pretty boring if there were only two other species besides humans, and animals are pretty cool.” She loves the full spectrum of animals, from praying mantis and peregrine falcons to panthers and orcas!
Shannon LOVES the snake family and is fascinated by the king cobra, especially the shape of their eyes, how they use venom, and the details of the designs on their hoods. “Snakes can smell with their tongues and hear with their bones, which is pretty amazing.” She loves the varieties of species and thinks it’s cool that they had an ancestor that was a giant snake dinosaur! She believes that snakes are often misunderstood, and people would be less scared if they knew more about them.
Shannon loves playing outdoors! Catching fireflies and imaginary play bring endless enjoyment. From creating forts and fairy houses in the backyard to scaling a rock scramble hike like a gecko, her imagination knows no bounds! She’s never met a rock or stick she didn’t like, and sees infinite possibilities in the world around her. “I love how you can do a bunch of crafts with a couple of sticks and a feather!”
