Sentry wants to be a Jr Ranger because caring for nature is her life. She already gives her time to volunteer at our local bird sanctuary.
Thank you for generously supporting Sentry in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreShe loves how relaxing nature is and finds beauty in even the smallest details. She can be found everywhere from the creek with a net to the trails with a bag of litter she’s collected to help protect the earth and its animals. We often sit at home and watch documentaries about the ocean, and she dreams of swimming with dolphins and wouldn’t even be afraid of sharks because she’s read so many books about them.
Her favorite animals are birds because she loves how they can shape their environment. She’s fascinated that they’re related to dinosaurs and thinks of them as real-life Pokémon. Volunteering at the local bird sanctuary has made her passionate about protecting them. She has sat in on seminars about hawk migration and loves learning how birds travel and adapt. Every bird, from blue jays to parrots, feels important to her.
She loves riding her bike on the trails near our home, cleaning up litter, and searching for different types of quartz and signs of wildlife. She turns every outing into an opportunity to explore and protect nature. We’ve visited local animal rescues and she has even fed a baby deer with a bottle.
