Ruby lived in Florida and we moved to Maine and opened up a whole new world for her to explore. The love of nature is imbedded in her.

Learn MoreRuby loves going to the beach and identifying different rocks and shells. Looking at the different wildlife. She has the opportunity from generations of family with a love of nature. Her great grandmother has 20 acres of old forest and the newer forestry closer to the house. She is naturally curious and asks all the questions. Being exposed to several different climates and ecosystems has led to a fond love of plants, animals and fungi. This girl also has a curiosity with mycology.
She Has a hard time choosing. We switch from forest settings, to beach settings and even the swamps in Florida. So she likes sea turtles for ocean life, for forest life she likes observing the different squirrels. When visiting Paines Prairie alligators were an obvious interest in gators an encounter with a wild horse was an amazing experience when we were walking the basin of the prairie. The bison would graze there, block the end of the trail to the looking tower. Animals spark curiosity.
She is outside practically all summer. She gardens with my mom and I. Every year she attends a local farm camp and learns about horticulture. She even wanted to go the extra mile and take the extra horticulture class that was offered. We like to make sure we are making things possible for her to learn as much as she can. Looking through the pictures we were amazed at all the adventures we have already been on. It’s so exciting to see what other adventures are out there.
