Riggs, 5.5, is a homeschooled farm kid who loves travel, forest school, and exploring nature. He learns by getting outside every day.

Riggs loves being outside exploring and discovering how nature works. He digs in the dirt, studies rocks, plants, and trees, and asks questions about everything he finds. Through forest school he spends full days outdoors in all weather learning land navigation, making charcoal, building sundials, and identifying trees and moss. As a family we travel often, and Riggs especially enjoys exploring new habitats like the rainforest in Puerto Rico and learning about the plants and wildlife there.
Riggs’ favorite animals often change as he discovers more about nature, but right now he’s fascinated with great white sharks. He loves learning about the ocean and dreams of seeing one in person someday. We live on a small farm and he also loves animals like horses, especially since he takes riding lessons. Sharks currently top his list because he thinks they are powerful, mysterious, and one of the most amazing creatures in the ocean.
Riggs’ favorite outdoor activity is digging in the dirt and exploring what’s beneath the ground. He loves searching for rocks, fossils, and anything interesting he can uncover. He will spend hours carefully digging, examining each find, and asking questions about how it formed and where it came from. Whether on our farm, in the woods, or while traveling, he is happiest with dirt on his hands, discovering something new and imagining the story behind it.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
