Receive Text UpdatesRemy is naturally curious and nature is like a living encyclopedia just waiting for him to explore it! He loves nature, "Because it loves us." While his short and sweet answer reflects his young age of four, his family takes it to mean that he loves nature because he feels the most himself when connected to it. He strengthens bonds with family/friends as he nurtures (and releases) a caught bug, cuddles up for an animal book or documentary, and shares discoveries at a visit to the zoo/aquarium.
"Lionesses because they're the fiercest. ALL big cats. And sharks...hammerheads, because they go 1,000 miles to the open ocean. They sometimes nibble on sting ray, crab, and octopus. I also like zebras, because they have white and black. I think that's cool. Froggies. They love hopping and catching flies. ME TOO! Lizards run really fast. The great tailed grackle because they have these long tails. I wish I had one. Snakes are really, really cool. The king cobra and rattlesnake have venom bites!"
Remy has always expressed a desire to be outside. In fact, we believe he was motivated to learn to crawl just so he could access our backyard by escape through the doggy door. He notices small details, like an ant crawling by or the buzz of a bee, and is eager to take a closer look. He enjoys picking flowers from the bushes at his school, bird watching with his teacher on picnic lunches, collecting rocks, and getting muddy. He likes to swim and wants to go diving in the "real ocean" someday.
