What I love the most about nature is that it's peaceful. You're taking in the moment, the very thing that brings life. It leaves everything behind except for the pleasant feeling of nature around me.
The water scorpion is my favorite! It's just so cool! People don’t pay attention to it, but the water scorpion is beautiful. It's like the praying mantis of the water. It has two raptorial legs that help catch prey. They help us control the mosquito population and other insects, but one of the most important things about this insect is that it's a bioindicator. It can tell scientists that something is happening in its habitat. It also has a really cool snorkel that it uses while submerged.
My favorite outdoor activity is going into the wild and finding the beauty in nature and the treasure it gives. I specifically love searching for insects and other creatures, whether it be in the woods or in the creek, because it gives me the gift of seeing life and learning from it. Like a puzzle, everything comes together, and I can learn more about how nature works. It's an honor to find and seek something new. This is one reason I'd love to find more ways to help the Earth and teach others.
