Receive Text UpdatesOwen has always been fascinated with the little champions of nature. At 5yo he learned about bees. One day on a walk a bee landed on his shirt. He walked calmly home to get the bee water and a flower to rest on. He has protected praying mantis nests and learned about the beneficial spiders in our garden. He strives to protect all of the living things that make our ecosystem an incredible home. It's so special to see his passion for critters big and small and see the unique value in all.
I really love octopi because they are so smart and unique. I watched a series called "Secrets of the Octopus" and I learned they can do really unique things. For protection, they can take two shells and use the shells to put around its body for armor. I thought it was interesting that an octopus was found sleeping and it was possibly dreaming because it was moving and changing colors. There's so much we can learn from them and I became really interested in learning all about octopi.
I love to take hikes and look at all of the nature around me. It's fun to see different birds or bugs, kind of like a scavenger hunt. I like watching insects and seeing what they do. Sometimes I'll try to feed a spider by putting a bug or grasshopper in his web. It's fun to just be outside and get fresh air during the summer.
