Receive Text UpdatesOwen has a fascination for the variety of animal species and how each is created perfectly for keeping the balance of ecosystems. He desires to one day be a zoologist, specifically a herpetologist and takes care of his 9 reptile/amphibian pets with great care. He notices the littlest details and marvels at the unique personalities each animal seems to uncover.
While choosing a favorite animal is quite the challenge, Owen’s top pick would be a Fly River Turtle. He marvels at its ability to be fully aquatic, its great sense of smell and its snorkel-like pig nose. He also loves its unique flippers that remind him of a sea turtle but makes its home in fresh water estuaries , rivers and lagoons. Though he’s never seen one in person, he’s thoroughly enjoyed learning about this one-of-a-kind creature from Northern Australia.
We often refer to our nature guy as “Eagle eye Owen” because he sees things no one else notices when it comes to animals. Catching and observing animals is by far his favorite way to enjoy the outdoors. Living in Florida, he has lots of opportunities to observe and learn about many different species of animals while also learning about how they are part of a greater ecosystem. You can often find him observing animals even in the ditches on the sides of the road as we travel in everyday life.
