It doesn’t matter if it’s a fluffy fur baby or the creepiest of crawlies, he’s captivated by and cares deeply for every living thing. He loves watching the wildlife in the woods behind our home, asks to meet and pet every dog he encounters, and comes home excited every time he learns about a new animal in school. No one would be surprised if an animal-related career is in his future.
He says that his favorite animal is a snake - and he DOES love them - but it’s hard to imagine him caring more for any animal than he does for our two cats. Even as a baby he was never a fur-puller - now he’s frequently found snuggling with them, or joining them at the window to watch for squirrels. He has such a real connection with them, and it’s clear they love him just as much.
He’s currently on a huge soccer kick (pun intended), but he’s hugely in his element whenever we visit a zoo or petting zoo. He likes to not only observe and commune with the animals, but to impersonate them as well. He enjoys getting in touch with his inner goat, monkey, or crocodile.
