What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreSitting in nature is one of my favorite things to do. I like to find a quiet spot and listen to the birds sing, waterfalls, and the leaves move in the wind. Sometimes I watch squirrels and deer run or clouds drift across the sky. It makes me feel calm and happy, like all my worries float away. Nature is like a big, peaceful hug.
My favorite animal is a penguin. I love how they waddle when they walk and slide on their bellies across the ice. Penguins are great swimmers, and they look like they’re flying underwater! I think they are funny, cute, and so interesting. I also like how they stay together in groups and take care of each other. Penguins are special to me because they are both playful and strong.
My favorite outdoor activity is exploring in the woods. I like walking along the trails, looking for cool rocks, bugs, and animal tracks. Sometimes I pretend I’m on a big adventure, like a forest explorer. I listen to the birds and watch the trees sway in the wind. Being outside makes me feel free, happy, and ready for any adventure!
