Whether she’s mountain biking or hiking on trails, she enjoys listening to birds and exploring nearby ponds to look for tadpoles, snails, frogs, and turtles. She also loves helping plant flowers and herbs in the garden and learning how plants help bees and other wildlife. Being outside sparks her curiosity and inspires her to learn more about the animals and plants around her.
Mia’s favorite animal is the chimpanzee. She’s fascinated by their intelligence and loves learning that they are one of humans’ closest relatives. She especially enjoys learning about Jane Goodall’s work studying chimpanzees and protecting wildlife. Mia was even lucky enough to see Jane Goodall speak in person at the Fox Theatre, which made her love and curiosity for animals grow even more.
