Nature is my favorite place because there are so many amazing animals and insects to discover. Trees are really important because they help us breathe and help all of us survive. When I visited Borneo last summer with my mom and my little brother, I got to see wild orangutans, which made me so happy, but it also made me sad to see so much jungle being cut down. Nature is special to me because every place is full of life, and I think it’s important for kids like me to help protect it.
I have so many favorite animals, it's hard to choose one! But my favorite bird is the Resplendent Quetzal. They have beautiful green feathers and very long tail feathers that make them look magical. Quetzals live in cloud forests in Central America and eat fruits like wild avocados. They inspire a lot of my drawings, and I love learning about them because they show how colorful and amazing nature can be.
My favorite outdoor activity is going on nature adventures with my family. At home in Oregon, I love hiking through forests and seeing the huge old trees. When we travel to warm beaches, I love snorkeling and looking for sea animals like starfish, pufferfish, moray eels, and feather duster worms that close up when you touch them. I love exploring new places because every adventure helps me learn more about nature and the amazing animals that live there.
