Receive Text UpdatesWhen asked, Maylin said she loves that you can find life in every corner of nature, if you look hard enough! Also, that you will never get the same experience twice. She loves the escape from the rest of the world and discovering something that she has never encountered before. Maylin says "most kids my age want to be near an electrical outlet and I feel like I'm the happiest far far away from them"
Maylin's favorite animal is a rat. She has two pet rats of her own and loves wild rodents as well. When asked why, she said they are her favorite because she's always blown away by how much intelligence they possess. "So much emotional and intellectual intelligence in such a tiny little body." Maylin started a trend in our neighborhood for humane rat/mouse traps only so that catch and release was possible. Her tiny rat companions won so many hearts, that many of them now look at rats differently
Maylin loves hiking and swimming. Anything outdoors. We have several nature trails and state parks that we love to visit and explore. Gopher tortoises are protected in our area. Her favorite trail is called Gopher tortoise trail in Reed Bingham State Park, an early morning walk down that trail to spot some Gopher tortoises enjoying the morning sun outside their burrows.
