What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreMason has a deep love for nature, describing it simply as loving "just naturing.” He particularly enjoys "the beautiful flowers, and water, and rocks, and sticks, and animals, and birds. Oh, and the beach.” He is eager to explore different landscapes and learn about various animals and their habitats. Finding a map of the area we are exploring is a surefire way to make Mason's day, however, if we can't find a map, he'll make us one!
Mason’s has two favorite animals, a caracal and a cheetah. He loves caracals because he enjoys their “tickly ears” and “they can jump high.” Mason loves cheetahs because “they can run fast” and “are the fastest animal”, adding that they “chirp like birdies and care for their babies.”
Mason's favorite activity is exploring, particularly because, as he puts it, he wants "to see nature, and animals, and foot prints. And the beach." He loves to embark on hikes equipped with his animal footprint book and binoculars, and he often brings outdoor scavenger hunt checklists. During these adventures, Mason enjoys making walking sticks from fallen branches, finding hidden nests, jumping in puddles, and searching for shells while splashing in the waves at the beach.
