What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreMarcie loves feeling the breeze as she bikes down our local woodland trail, the warmth of the sun against her face as she swims in the lake, and the massage of raindrops as she dances in our front yard filled with native flowers. Her favorite moments include sitting in her hunting blind watching the Whitetail fawns learn to spar during the WI rut, the giant Northern Pike chasing down her lure as she reels it in, and the Eastern Cottontail kits as they begin to open their eyes in their burrow.
Marcie's favorite animal is the Capuchin monkey. "It's cute," is what she said first when asked why she liked them. But, then she paused and thought for a minute before explaining the deeper connection she shares with them. Marcie has ADHD and often feels overwhelmed when trying to control her urges to move. She loves watching the monkeys swing from the branches and interact with each other - free to be themselves without restriction. They are her epitome of the term "spirit animal."
Marcie's favorite outdoor activity is riding her bike. It allows her to travel to many places while sharing experiences with friends and family. She bikes with her mom, to the farmers market, where they purchase flowers and locally grown vegetables. She bikes with her older sister to the playground, where they get to spend time one-on-one time together talking about life. Marcie is easily bored, but biking in our rural community gives her opportunities to see new plants and animals.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
