Receive Text UpdatesMara loves lots of different animals, especially moose. She loves to take care of animals and explore. She especially loves hiking and camping. Mara loves the surprises every adventure holds and the magic in wildlife encounters. Every whale breaching, bear sighting and moose visiting our yard is like them saying hello to Mara, making it extra special.
Mara’s favorite animal is a cheetah because it runs so fast. She would love to see a cheetah in the wild someday.
Mara loves joining the family with her big sister Thea and her dog Zoe each spring, her favorite season, to take a boat ride out of Whittier, AK into the Prince William Sound to go camping in our favorite public use cabin and go shrimping. At low tide, we hike around bays and find sea cucumbers, sea stars, snails and mussels while we watch sea otters and seals catch fish and eat clams. Mara can not wait for spring and summer each year to go on boat rides to Alaska’s most wild places.
