What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreLucy thinks it’s amazing that trees talk to each other through their root systems. She also loves animals and has chosen to study them for most of her project topics at school. Over the past two years, she has researched and creatively shared her findings about deer, dogs, polar bears, Komodo dragons and sea stars, specifically the crown-of-thorns starfish. Lucy enjoys teaching others about nature, especially her little sister.
Cheetahs, because they are so fast; and lions, because they are so fierce. Both are brave! She also loves dogs and has a beautiful relationship with our German Shepherd, Lady. Lucy often pretends she is one of these animals and donning dog ears and a tail or roaring like a lion is not at all uncommon.
Climbing trees! Swinging and tag are close second favorites. She is used to being outside in all weather and we’ve noticed how this exploration fosters her confidence and fuels her imagination. She loves looking for signs of the season and identifying plants, birds, and other animals. She is delighted when she finds a Sassafras and can share the sweet smell with others. She likes testing her balance on any and every landscape. She is always collecting sticks, rocks and other treasures.
