Learn MoreI love that nature rewards curiosity. The more I slow down, the more I notice - patterns in plants, bird calls, insect trails, and how everything connects. I read science encyclopedias, then look for those details outside. I am also a lifelong vegan, which is a choice I make every day to help protect animals and the planet. Nature feels like an endless puzzle, and I love figuring out how it works.
My favourite animal is the peregrine falcon. I've seen many from my backyard, and watching them dive is unforgettable. They're the fastest animals on Earth, reaching over 300 km/hr! They even have special nostrils that let them breathe during those high-speed dives. They were once endangered but recovered, showing that conservation works. Every sighting reminds me how incredible wildlife is.
My favourite outdoor activity is exploring and climbing trees. From up high, I can see patterns in the forest and watch birds overhead, including peregrine falcons. I move slowly, looking for tracks, plants, insects, anything unusual. Then I research what I find, turning every hike into a science project. I also pick up litter on the nature trail behind my house so that animals can have cleaner habitats. I've noticed this often leads others to do the same.
