Is your trailblazer the next Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreLily is lucky to be surrounded by nature living in Alaska. She enjoys the beauty and unique variety of colors, patterns, textures and shapes. Nature inspires her creativity and she finds peace in the woods. Nature also helps her be present in the moment and gives her motivation to move, explore, and play.
Although she loves all animals, Lily chose to research the Octopus for her school animal project last year. She was fascinated by the fact that it is an invertebrate, has 9 brains, 3 hearts, and its suction cups on its tentacles can taste. Octopuses are amazing and can fit through tiny spaces. They are so unique that they could be the closest thing to aliens that exist.
In the Winter, Lily enjoys ice skating on frozen lakes. The ice is beautiful to look down at with frozen air bubbles and cracks. It can sometimes be windy, and the wind helps her glide across the ice, which is fun. In the Summer, she enjoys hiking the Butte which gives a nice, scenic view of our area. She also enjoys visiting the reindeer farm with a variety of animals at the base of the Butte.
