What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreJackson loves to analyze how plants and animals have special features that help them survive. His favorite is the Venus flytrap. He studied to lean about how the plant produces nectar to attract the insects, then snap shut when the interior hair follicles are disturbed. When his first 2 died, he researched to discover the plants need a unique combination of soils to survive. He talks to everyone about their unique traits!
Jackson was first captivated by the gray wolf when he heard its howl in the mountains. He instantly wanted to know all about it. He quickly discovered it was a pack animal known for its loyalty. Jackson was adopted when he was 7, so family and loyalty are very important to him. He has a pet dog that he adores and he’s loved figuring out how pets descended from gray wolves!
Jackson loves exploring and collecting bugs. He plants flowers that attract insects and finds cocoons that he can watch as the moths and butterflies come out. He often overturns rocks and examines the bugs that live there. He loves collecting insects and spiders to feed to his Venus fly trap.
