What does Hugh love most about nature?

Being outside, means learning new things, seeing new things and getting to touch things. Such as a fish when he catches it. Using his eyes to spot bugs and animals. He enjoys watching rainstorms roll in to our campsite and showing his sisters how to eat hail and stomp in puddles.

What is Hugh's favorite animal—and why?

Bald eagle. He has seen them in the wild, and enjoys mimicking their calls. He likes how they know how to fly and catch fish. The way it looks with a white head and yellow talons. Hugh really enjoys learning about big raptors, one of his first animals he spotted and could name. One of his favorite shows is Animal rescue Alaska, and has watched that season more than once. He has watched them fly in Alaska and Wyoming. His eagle call is one of a kind.

What is Hugh's favorite outdoor activity?

Camping!! Our family goes camping as often as possible in our tent. Hugh is learning how to help set up the tent and start a fire. He is very good at collecting fire wood, finding different bugs and listening to birds. He finds animal tracks wherever we go, and knows a lot of them. Mom always has to pack extra sets of clothes because he will find any water or mud close by and be in it. He is currently learning tasks with his multi tool, like whittling hot dog sticks for us to cook with.
