What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreWhat I love most about nature is the feeling of connection when I quietly observe it. I use a bird book from Meika’s Bird House to learn about birds and draw the ones I see in my backyard, like robins, bluebirds, magpies, and chickadee’s. Watching them makes me feel calm and curious. This year, I’m excited to do the same at our lake lot and feel even closer to nature
My favorite animal is the African Red‑Bellied Parrot, especially Belle at Meika’s Bird House in Sherwood Park. Belle is smart, chatty, and very busy. She free‑flies indoors, helps with laundry, loves cardboard toys, and supervises food from the fridge. She says words like “hi” and “peek‑a‑boo.” Belle inspires me to learn about conservation and how protecting habitats helps animals thrive.
My favorite outdoor activity is running! I love racing around my community, running along the lake near my home, and exploring nature with energy and excitement. I also love playing soccer and running full speed with my dogs at the dog park. Being active outside makes me feel strong, happy, and full of life, especially when I’m surrounded by nature.
