She treasures her encounters with animals- whether she is discovering a pill bug, noticing a neighborhood Blue Jay, witnessing a dolphin offshore, or feeling the texture of a stingray. Hayley enjoys interacting with nature, whether she's splashing in puddles, building sandcastles, or examining snowflakes under her microscope. She loves reading about nature and enjoys drawing animals, sharing her knowledge and art with others.
Hayley loves all kinds of animals- sea turtles, owls, stingrays, and cicadas to name a few! Currently, her favorite animal is the axolotl. She enjoys sharing her knowledge, explaining that axolotls live in the wild only in Lake Xochimilco, Mexico, and are critically endangered due to habitat loss. She says they are her favorite because of their “funny smiles.” Hayley loves drawing axolotls and sharing her drawings with others to raise awareness about their endangered status.
Living in the Midwest, Hayley enjoys the unique adventures of each season- riding her bike in the forest preserve, playing softball or basketball, walking her dog Kylo, building a snowman, and gardening. Her favorite activity is exploring the beach. Whether on the shores of Lake Michigan or the California Coast, she appreciates the uniqueness of each shell and looking for animals. With Hayley’s love of science and the water, it would not be surprising if she grew up to be a Marine Biologist!
