What does Harper love most about nature?

Harper is noticing and loving the many things that nature creates. One example are trees. " trees don't just grow leaves. They make sap and oxygen and shade for when its hot. They are homes to all kinds of animals . And they are so pretty to look at! I can see trees in my woods and anywhere I go, even the city. When the seasons change and the days get longer or shorter they change so quickly! Even the evergreen trees change! "

What is Harper's favorite animal—and why?

Harper's favorite animal right now are birds. She likes to hear them make music with their songs. "If I sit still for a little while I can follow the sounds to which bird is singing". She enjoys watching them in flight. " all birds don't fly the same. I like the birds that glide and soar. Those are the kind of birds I can see through the moon roof of the car when we're driving ". She is noticing birds make their nests, " all kinds of birds look for safe spaces, I love seeing the babies."

What is Harper's favorite outdoor activity?

Harper's favorite outdoor activity is hide and seek in the woods or behind snow piles, she enjoys playing outside no matter the weather. " that's when I find special rocks and insect nests". She also looks at the different types of flowers when hiding. " I see so many flowers and then I collect the seeds for spring!" There are seeds in small jars and baggies with pumpkin seeds in the freezer. " I like playing in the snow, but I'm waiting for it to get warmer so I can start planting the seeds"
