I enjoy the fresh air, lots of pretty places, and all the different activities I can do, like backpacking, camping, fishing, soccer, running, and going to the beach. I’m always curious about the animals I find outside and love learning about them. No matter the weather, if it’s safe, I want to be outdoors exploring and experiencing nature. I want to keep learning and grow as a Junior Ranger to protect wildlife.
My favorite animal is the red panda. I love it because it symbolizes independence, which connects to my Native American name at school, Imaginative Panda Builds with Melody. Red pandas are also great at defending themselves, which reminds me of taekwondo, one of my sports. I hope I get to see one in person someday! They are also playful, curious, and unique, which makes me feel connected to them. Learning about animals like the red panda inspires me to explore more and protect wildlife.
My favorite outdoor activity is backpacking. It’s something to look forward to. I love spending all day and night outside and exploring new places. It’s a special time with my whole family, including my dog, Miranda. I’m always sad to leave, but I start researching my next adventure right away. I enjoy going at my own pace, no matter how easy or challenging the trail is. Backpacking teaches independence, problem-solving, and respect for nature. I always come home stronger and more confident.
