Receive Text UpdatesFisher loves all wild animals and learning about how they survive and coexist within their unique habitats. We live on the Oregon coast and Fish takes every opportunity to look for native animals, like our rough-skinned newt, when we are out in nature. After hikes and exploring he loves researching and learning everything he can about the animals that share our neighborhoods with us.
Fisher’s favorite animal is the Giant Pacific Octopus. We get to visit one that lives at the Oregon Coast Aquarium regularly. Fish is always amazed at how smart they are, as well as their ability to squeeze into tiny spaces despite their large size. He has been reading about how they camouflage themselves to hide in their environment from predators and while hunting.
Fisher is always down for a good bike ride, and loves finding new trails to explore, especially ones that take us through a variety of different ecosystems. One of Fisher’s favorite biking paths is in South Beach, Oregon where we get to see a variety of animals as we bike through dunes, shrubs, and trees. We have spotted bald eagles, gulls, plovers, and the adorable spotted Towhee. His 2nd favorite thing to do is hike through our rainy forests, searching for newts, frogs and giant banana slugs!
