Emmett loves all animals and the outdoors… From fishing, hiking, snorkeling, collecting rocks and plants, kayaking, and being near water.

In our outdoor adventures, Emmett loves to spot and name wildlife we see, find fossils, always has a good walking stick, and especially loves marine animals. He is always educating everyone around him with interesting and obscure animal facts he has learned since he was 2, watching animal shows on PBS. Emmett has always had a love for fish and any marine wildlife, and recently did a presentation on the blob fish at school. We have visited aquariums and/or the zoo on every vacation we take.
Emmett’s favorite animals are gorillas because they are incredibly strong, they have sharp teeth, and are very protective of their family. When we were at the Omaha Zoo, they have an amazing enclosure where the gorillas were eating, playing, and napping so close you could see their facial expressions and how much their hands and feet resembled a humans. One of the silverbacks was napping on top of a glass looking at all the kids. Emmett was fascinated seeing his face features so closely.
Emmett loves visiting our local wildlife conservation exhibits and visitors centers to learn more about animals. We live close to Smithville lake and spend a lot of time kayaking, boating, and hiking the trails by the lake and naming any animal we see or hear along the way. We have several ponds and he loves all the wildlife they bring with turtles, frogs, ducks, geese, birds, and our annually returning crane, Frank. Emmett also loves snorkeling in the ocean and the naming all the fish we see.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
