Emilia really loves to learn about all kinds of animals. In addition to her Ranger Rick subscription, one of her favorite things to read is "The Animal Book" by the Smithsonian. She shows us and tells us all about the animals in that encyclopedia, sometimes ones that we've never even heard of (like a Gerenuk!). When possible, she enjoys hiking, exploring, and seeing animals in the wild. Living in the Pacific Northwest, she has been lucky to see orcas, bald eagles, deer, and more.
Emilia's favorite animal is the cheetah because it is super fast. They are also known for being smart and for surviving their tough environment by adapting.
Emilia loves visiting new parks and exploring. She has traveled to several national parks in the U.S., including Mount Rainier and the Grand Canyon. She has also visited Canada's Banff National Park twice. Last year, she braved cold, windy conditions to walk across several frozen lakes with her dad and ice-skated and played hockey on Lake Louise.
