Emerson would make an exceptional Junior Ranger because his love for nature and animals is deeper than that of any child I have ever known.

Receive Text UpdatesNamed after Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emerson shares his namesake’s love of nature, wonder, and discovery. He feels most at home outdoors, where every rock, bug, and animal is something to notice, protect, and learn from. Whether he is searching for insects, rescuing a trapped lizard, or finding old lost things and new treasures in the dirt, Emerson explores with curiosity and kindness. He would never harm the earth or the creatures that call it home.
Emerson loves elephants most because he thinks their long trunks are amazing. They can use them like a hand and even squirt water. He loves how strong, smart, and gentle they are. Elephants feel extra special to him because elephant starts with the letter E, just like Emerson. That little connection makes them his favorite animal of all.
Emerson’s favorite thing to do outdoors is visit Paradise Falls in Thousand Oaks, CA. He loves the waterfalls, lily pads, ducks, crossing rocks, climbing, and having picnics with his family. He loves the sound of the water and the chance of seeing a rainbow. What he does not love is littering. When he sees cans or bottles in the water, it upsets him because he believes nature should be kept clean for the animals, plants, and people who enjoy it.
