What does Edi love most about nature?

Nature feeds Edi's curious spirit. “I love that there’s always cool things to find and learn about in nature, like animals! It’s fun to explore different places and find out about things they have there that I haven’t seen where I live. My favorite time was when we were in Mexico and got to learn about how to help baby sea turtles and even release them into the ocean!” When not out in it Edi enjoys reading books and magazines (like Ranger Rick!) and watching shows about the natural world.

What is Edi's favorite animal—and why?

Edi was born with an affinity for animals, even the typically less popular. Her first word was our dog's name and she refers to people as "the ones who live with <insert pet's name>". Edi is just as enthusiastic to cuddle a kitten as she is to swim with sharks, hold reptiles, or save a spider. When asked to pick a favorite she said, “I love bugs the best because they have a lot of colors, patterns and interesting parts. And I like finding them! My nickname is even Beetle!"

What is Edi's favorite outdoor activity?

Whether ice fishing in the arctic or snorkeling in the tropics, Edi is in her element any time she’s outdoors. While she loves activities like climbing, backpacking, and fishing, it is the unstructured time in nature that is her favorite. When bird watching leads to climbing a tree then finding bugs and seeing new fungi..Surrounded by plants and animals with endless possibilities for movement, imagination and discovery is Edi’s preferred state, particularly with her brother and dog by her side.
