What does Cora love most about nature?

Cora loves to be outside- the leaves, the bugs she finds-discovery is at the heart of her constant desire to be outdoors. Cora attends a Waldorf school that does emphasize connection to the environment and, as a kindergartner, she does spend six hours a day playing with nature crafts and at her after-school program on a hilltop farm with goats and sheep rather than indoors at a table or desk. Cora loves to watch David Attenborough documentaries and recently, "Natural History Museum Alive."

What is Cora's favorite animal—and why?

Cora said two favorite animals today- one is a friendly and portly goat at her after-school farm program and one is a spinosaurus. We watched a recent "Dinosaurs" documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman and she has asked for that to be on repeat, every day. We limit our screen time and when Cora does get to choose an evening or "snowday" movie, she picks documentaries.

What is Cora's favorite outdoor activity?

Cora said she likes to fill the birdfeeder and watch which birds come to have snacks. We have a chart of New England birds and figure out who is visiting us, what color their feathers are, and who is the biggest bird (often Blue Jays) that come to our porch. She also loves to visit the pond at her grandparent's family-owned campground in rural NH to catch frogs and minnows.
