What does Connor love most about nature?

Connor’s monologue: “I like nature because I like animals so much, I talk about them at school. I like creatures because they’re really cute; I do like toads and frogs. I do like bunnies because they hop a lot; did you know that mosquitoes need blood to lay eggs? dragonflies start as larvae too and then they turn to an underwater creature and they eat mosquito larvae and then they come out of the water and sit on sticks. When baby spider monkeys are five months old they can actually swing!”

What is Connor's favorite animal—and why?

“My favorite animal are all lizards, blue tongued skinks, leopard geckos, baby lizards, anoles. I really like them because - I do. A cool fact about blue tongued skinks is that they think their tongue is venomous, but it’s actually not, it’s just a defense mechanism”

What is Connor's favorite outdoor activity?

“Fishing!” But in reality, fishing for Connor is a whole nature experience. We spend time at the local ponds looking at turtles, frogs, ducks, we live across the road from a blue heron rookery and check on their nesting and hatching babies every spring. He can identify waterfowl better than most adults. He was always shy, but he will never hesitate to point an animal out to a stranger. His best day ever would be a day at a pond looking for creatures.
