What does Bradley love most about nature?

What I love most about nature is its diversity. I love the feeling of being alone in the wilderness and knowing we as Junior Rangers need to protect it. From the coral reefs of Biscayne to the volcanoes of Hawaii, I have seen how different nature can be. Every park is unique and beautiful in its own way, and that is what makes nature so amazing to me. Nature is bigger than me, and it needs protecting every day. It reminds me that these places are not just for me, but for everyone after me too.

What is Bradley's favorite animal—and why?

Animals symbolize many things in our country. Bald eagles represent power, and bison represent perseverance. But my favorite animal is the river otter, Lontra canadensis, because it reminds me of who I am. When I saw my first river otter in Chugach National Forest, I knew it was my favorite. As a military kid, I have learned to be resilient and adaptable while leaning on my family, just like river otters do. They are playful, adventurous, and family-centered, which is why I adore them.

What is Bradley's favorite outdoor activity?

My favorite outdoor activity is hiking because it has given me some of my most meaningful experiences in nature. I have ridden a mule through the Grand Canyon, climbed the sand dunes at White Sands, and walked through the giant sequoia redwoods. Each hike has shown me something different about the beauty and power of nature. Hiking has brought me closer to wildlife, history, and my family, and it has helped me value these special places even more. It makes every park feel more personal to me.
