Receive Text UpdatesHe loves the diversity of nature, how it can be dangerous but always introduces itself in a calm and beautiful way. He loves that nature and creatures allow him to just be there in their natural habitats, like they don’t think of him as an intruder. Nature is friendly. The first time he saw a crocodile in its natural habitat he felt like he had gone back in time. It looked so ancient. Nature can point us into the past and into places we can never visit.
It’s hard to choose 1, so we’ll share his top 3: Sharks: because they command and give respect equally and they play the most important role in our oceans which reflects in our entire ecosystem. Snakes: they’re different than any other creature. They can hunt, move and do everything else that creatures do w/o limbs. They’re shy by nature but relax when there’s no threat. Crocs & gators: their kind has outlived every other specie in history. They show us resilience and adaptability.
Atlas loves scuba diving. He did his fist dive in Rangiroa when he was 8 years old and when he turned 10 he got PADI certified in Belize where he had his first encounters with nurse sharks. Swimming & snorkeling is also up there. He’s been swimming with sharks since he was 3. He loves looking for reptiles in nature. Whether it’s crocs or gators in swamps/mangroves, or chasing lizards around California. If there’s a snake around, he is guaranteed to catch it, observe for a while & release
