Amelia loves the outdoors and animals - all of them. She's consistently said she wants to be a vet since she was old enough to talk.

What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn MoreShe loves nature because of all the new things she can learn. For example, she was fascinated to learn the life cycle of leaves and trees. She also likes looking for wild animals in their natural habitats, and learning how they use camouflage to stay hidden, or bright colours to make predators leave them alone. Of course, she also loves the fresh air you can only get outside.
Amelia's favourite animal is the penguin. They are super cute because they waddle when they walk. They're also very protective of their eggs and babies. She also likes that penguin families stick together, just like ours. She's familiar with lots of different penguin species, such as spaghetti, emperor, king, and little penguins. She's really excited for our trip to Argentina to see wild penguins for the first time.
Amelia's favorite outdoor activity is riding her bike. In the spring and summer, we bike multiple times a week, and she was really quick to learn how. We bike on trails, look for animals, and get lots of exersize. She enjoys biking with her family, and teaching her brother and sister how to bike too. Last summer, we biked to soccer practice, to the ice cream shop, the park, and even all through downtown Ottawa.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
