From making Douglas fir tea to spotting miner’s lettuce, he’s proud of trying things himself. Whether in the redwoods or the desert, he respects nature, learns from it, and treats it with curiosity and care.
Alan’s favorite animals are lizards and snakes because he sees them as the closest living connection to dinosaurs. He gets excited every time he finds one, especially garden snakes. He doesn’t just admire them he protects them. He gently observes, learns, and always lets them go, showing respect for wildlife and their role in nature.
Alan loves exploring and camping, especially in the desert like the Mojave and Death Valley. He enjoys hiking, spotting wildlife, identifying plants, and learning survival skills. Whether it’s searching for reptiles, discovering edible plants, or just being out in the wild, he thrives when he’s exploring new environments and learning hands on.
