Walker shared, “I love finding beautiful leaves in nature. I like greenish ones and yellowish ones. I just like beautiful leaves.” My child loves life in the woods. Whether he’s observing plants, admiring clouds, or reminding others to pick up their trash when we’re in public, he values the simplicity of nature, which remains constant and unwavering. He enjoys splashing through mud puddles, exploring creeks, climbing trees, and spotting lovely, tiny butterflies; he loves every facet of nature.
Walker stated, “I love the baby chicks. I love ALL the baby chicks. There are two reasons- I love to pet them, and I get to scoop up the baby chicks." He has an extraordinary chance to observe the circle of life here on our homestead, making the animals he cares for his favorites. One of his beloved activities is picking up the baby chicks and bringing them to a small mirror in the chicken run. He delights in watching them tilt their heads at their reflections, bursting into infectious giggles!
Walker expressed, “I like painting outside and nature walks where I find little treasures.” Nature is what we do. Since moving to the woods, taking nature walks has become a daily habit. Walker almost always carries a basket to collect what he calls his little treasures. For years, I've kept these treasures in jars to eventually show him, allowing him to remember all these small discoveries while preserving the spirit of the little boy who I hope will forever value and appreciate nature.
