Slayde is the ultimate explorer. He loves spending his time catching creatures and learning as many facts as he can about animals and nature
Thank you for generously supporting Slayde in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
In Slayde’s words what he loves most about nature is “the fresh air, exploring the great outdoors, learning new species and their habitats.” Since a young boy, Slayde has spent majority of his time outside hunting lizards, frogs, and worms. He loves looking for crawdads and salamanders in the river on our family farm along with his time he spends with the farm animals.
A lemur is Slayde’s favorite animal. In his words he “loves how intelligent and fun they are.” He loves animal documentaries learning as much information that he can about animals.
It would be hard to choose a specific outdoor activity that he likes. Slayde is homeschooled so he spends alot of time outside on our family farm exploring. Spring time is spent catching tadpoles, frogs, lizards, raising baby lambs. In the summer he is catching crawdads, minnows, salamanders, fishing, climbing trees, building forts, or making trails. Outside of “outdoor life” he is the quarterback for his county youth league football team as well as wrestling on our counties wrestling team.
