What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreThere are so many reasons he loves nature, & it’s always evolving. He enjoys learning new animal facts & sharing his knowledge, he also loves exploring in nature with his brother, mom & dad. He is also very interested in how species evolve, their genetics, & how scientists are working on de-extinction. This is his latest pursuit.
He can’t narrow it down to just one overall, but he has a couple categories: Favorite local species: Eastern Newt Favorite endangered: Axlotyl Favorite mammal: Probably an otter Favorite extinct: Thylocine -while he can’t choose just one, I will say, there have been a few instances where while discussing the thylocine, Silas is brought to tears because he wants to be a part of the team that discovers they’re not extinct., but because he’s not a “grown up” he is going to miss the exploration.
Silas loves exploring. He is eager to discover a new species; often analyzing something found on a hike (or as we like to call them, expeditions) for features that he will then reveal its identity or declare his latest discovery.
