Start Their AdventureWhen asked, Sawyer stated he loves that every adventure in nature leads to another. Everytime he goes outside he discovers something new that inspires him to learn more. Whether it’s catching bullfrogs from the creek, rescuing baby kill deers from irrigation ditches, throwing crabs back in the ocean, or watching how a pillbug moves and curls. Everything in nature causes a desire to learn, rescue, protect, and know more about the living things around us.
Sawyer loves the African Crowned Crane. He loves how beautiful and curious they are. He was able to interact with one and loved how curious she was watching him and listening to her beautiful song. He loved all the details of her feathers and how smart she was following him and watching what he was doing.
Exploring. Everytime he steps outside he’s on a mission. He’s a creature adventurer. His mission outside is exploring every plant, insect, bird or animal he encounters. I always hear excitement in his voice as he pointing out something new he discovered outside. He’s loves exploring our yard, the forest, the ocean, the creek at his grandparents, being outside is his favorite and seeing the world through his eyes is exciting. He views everyday as practice for one day rescuing animals.
