Sawyer is fascinated by every animal and their unique abilities. He craves to be outside hiking or exploring our creek. Being out in nature is his happy place. When he is outside, he is calm, patient and cares so deeply for each animal he encounters. He has a wealth of knowledge about animals and is constantly teaching all of us new things. He says he wants to be an animal conservationist when he grows up. He wants to travel the world to see all its beauty and amazing creatures.
Sawyer especially has an infatuation with reptiles. But he says his favorite of all is his bearded dragon. Beardie has been a wonderful addition to our family for almost two years. Sawyer loves their calm and goofy nature and their ability to puff out their beard. He spends many a night with Beardie curled in his lap while they both watch any Kratt brothers, Steve Irwin or Jeff Corwin episode they can find.
Sawyer spends every weather appropriate moment in our creek; fishing, kayaking, swimming and just exploring. He is a catch and release master. And has had a fishing pole, net and bucket in his hands since he was four. His first question almost daily is “Can I go to the creek today?” We also enjoy going on family hikes, camping and spending time with all our animals.
